10Bet Operator Fined £620,000 for AML and Responsible Gambling Failings

The prominent wagering platform 10Bet, managed by Blue Star Planet Limited, has received a significant financial penalty in Britain for neglecting its responsible gaming and anti-money laundering obligations. The UK Gambling Commission imposed a £620,000 sanction (approximately $748,000) following an inquiry that exposed notable deficiencies.

Initiated in September 2021, the investigation revealed procedural inconsistencies in the company’s approach to addressing potential money laundering and safeguarding at-risk patrons. These concerns surfaced during a compliance evaluation conducted in June 2021. Evidently, Blue Star Planet Limited violated several regulations between November 2019 and June 2021.

The Gambling Commission took a firm stance, determining that Blue Star Planet Limited exhibited multiple weaknesses in its anti-money laundering protocols and procedures. Furthermore, the company fell short in ensuring the implementation of responsible gambling practices.

As part of the resolution, the substantial penalty will be allocated to philanthropic organizations.

After an inquiry, authorities opted against imposing a financial penalty on Blue Planet Limited. However, the firm is obligated to contribute £620,000 to a philanthropic cause. Additionally, Blue Planet will bear the investigation expenses amounting to £3,571.25.
