888 Holdings has teamed up with a quintet of industry leaders to form 888Africa, a collaborative enterprise prepared to manage the 888 brand throughout Africa’s regulated internet wagering and gaming sectors.
888 has committed an initial minority stake in 888Africa but maintains the option to boost its ownership, with the potential to acquire up to full control of the company down the line.
As per the terms, 888Africa will remit a licensing charge for the privilege of utilizing and operating the 888 brand within regulated African markets. Content delivery will occur via a third-party technological framework, featuring products and games customized for regional tastes.
This new venture boasts a leadership contingent composed of seasoned experts, including Christopher Coyne, former CMO and Chief Customer Officer at The Stars Group, alongside Andrew Lee, former Managing Director of Sportsbook at The Stars Group and current Voxbet Chairman. Joining them are Alex Rutherford, previously Chief Product Officer at Editec Online, Ian Marmion, former Sports Betting Trading Director at The Stars Group, and Helen Scott-Allen, who served as CFO of Premier Bet.
888Africa intends to initiate operations in four markets over the course of 2022, contingent upon securing the requisite licensing authorizations.
“We are enthusiastic about collaborating with such a remarkable and accomplished team to launch 888Africa,” remarked Itai Pazner, CEO of 888 Holdings.

They aim to introduce 888’s premier online wagering and gaming system to this flourishing sector, prepared to engage with a vast number of new users. The arrangement is strategically designed as a savvy investment for the company, allowing them to penetrate this high-expansion zone without diverting focus from their core operations and primary markets.
