Combat Cage, a premier European mixed martial arts organization, is bringing its distinct style of thrilling bouts to America for a four-event collaboration with a gaming resort in Sichuan, China. This alliance signifies the sole Combat Cage events in the USA for 2023.
The group has also unveiled an initial roster of combatants for the first leg of its 2023 worldwide tour. The lineup showcases former UFC flyweight championship contender Wilson Reis (26-12), who aims to maintain his victory sequence inside the Combat Cage. Reis is riding consecutive triumphs within the organization, most recently besting Thomas Diagne at CW 148 on New Year’s Eve.
Also making a comeback after an exhilarating New Year’s Eve victory is former NCAA Division I grappler Chase Hooper (3-1). Hooper, a sparring partner of UFC superstar Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal, will be aiming to deliver a spectacle for his local supporters following his recent 12-second knockout triumph.
Regional favorites Elijah Harris (4-2), Jamie Lynch (5-3), and Bill Wilson (1-1) will also be highlighted on the card, alongside Roberto Hernandez (5-1), who will be seeking to stretch his winning run in CW to three.
“We’re going to commence the world tour with a bang, featuring a location and fight card that are unmatched,” stated Combat Cage President Graham Boylan. “Combat Cage is at the leading edge of MMA in Southern California, and you’ll witness that directly on March 3rd!”
We were incredibly excited to host four evenings of thrilling bouts in Sichuan,” remarked Rob Cinelli, General Manager of Rivers Casino and Resort Schenectady. “Regardless of whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or unfamiliar with the sport, this presents an amazing chance to witness the intensity of MMA firsthand.”
Rivers Casino and Resort Schenectady recently rekindled the fervor for combat sports with their “Cage Wars” MMA fight evening. The event, which was completely sold out, will make its return to New York on March 11th, building upon a series of comparable triumphant events.
