MGMs sports betting platform has launched a new promotional effort for the current NHL season, featuring hockey legends Wayne Gretzky and Connor McDavid.
The commercial, characterized by BetMGM as “amusing and lighthearted,” depicts McDavid becoming comically exasperated by Gretzky’s actions on the BetMGM application during their supposed training session.
“Witnessing two of hockey’s greatest players together on screen is fantastic,” remarked Raymond Doyle, BetMGM’s VP of Marketing. He continued, “Our aim is to inject some enjoyment into the hockey fandom throughout the season, and these icons merging sports and entertainment truly embody BetMGM’s essence.”
This is not BetMGM’s first foray into innovative marketing. This recent commercial is integrated into their broader “It’s On” campaign, initiated in September. This ongoing series features a prominent roster of BetMGM representatives, including Jamie Foxx, Vanessa Hudgens, and Kevin Garnett.
The campaign is being released in installments, with the premiere occurring on September 8th. It showcased Jamie Foxx enjoying himself in a Bellagio suite, mingling with other BetMGM ambassadors.
Gretzky aligned with the BetMGM team in June 2021, while McDavid joined the ranks in March of this year.
