Accel Entertainment Acquires Century Gaming in $164.2 Million Deal

Accel Entertainment made a significant impact on the American gaming industry by purchasing Century Gaming for a substantial $164.2 million. This action considerably broadens Accel’s presence nationwide.

Following a robust post-pandemic rebound, as demonstrated by their recent positive first-quarter earnings, Accel’s purchase of Century Gaming could offer a necessary boost to the gaming machine provider.

Century contributes over 8,300 gaming units and a system of more than 900 route sites, mainly in Montana and Nevada. These venues are strategically situated in pubs, bars, truck stops, and convenience store franchises.

Moreover, this acquisition enhances Accel’s holdings with design and production capabilities through Grand Vision Gaming (GVG) and Century’s exclusive loyalty initiatives, i-Rewards and Gamblers Bonus.

Positively, Century’s executive team, including CEO Steve Arntzen, CFO Heidi Schmalz, and GVG Managing Director Merle Frank, will remain to “pen the next chapter as members of the Accel family.”

Arntzen conveyed his excitement about the collaboration, remarking, “Accel is the ideal strategic ally we’ve sought to expedite our growth path by utilizing cutting-edge technology for our gaming operators and patrons.” He continued, “I’m immensely proud to persist in guiding our exceptional team to even greater achievements under the Accel name, providing the prime spots, top-tier products, and exceptional service that we’re recognized for.”

The head of Accels, Andy Rubin, expressed palpable enthusiasm for the merger. “The opportunity to collaborate with the Century group and broaden our presence westward is incredibly exciting,” he remarked. “Under the guidance of Steve, Heidi, and Mel, Century’s executive team presents the ideal alliance to facilitate our entry into this promising sector and truly propel expansion.”
