BetGames has officially entered the Ontario market after obtaining a brand new permit in the province.
The provider, BetGames, has declared that it has received full registration from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
This authorization will enable the live dealer provider to offer its game collection to operators already operating in the province. BetGames’ suite of live lottery-style games and game shows, such as Lucky 7, Lucky 5, and Starzle, which was specifically launched for Entain, have been a massive success.
The supplier is the most recent to join the quickly expanding regulated Ontario market, which grew by 64.8% from C$162 million (GBP104.1 million/EUR120 million/USD118.1 million) in the first quarter to C$267 million in the second quarter. The market has now entered its sixth month of operation, having officially opened on April 4, 2022.
“We are delighted to receive our supplier license for the Ontario market, which not only allows us to expand our global reach but also to entertain new audiences with our casino, digital betting, and sports betting products,” said Andreas Köberl, Chief Executive Officer of BetGames.
“The regulated Ontario market displays huge potential, and we are excited to be a part of it and be part of the excitement surrounding this newly regulated market.”
The company is already authorized to offer its products in Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and the UK Gambling Commission, as well as in South African regulated jurisdictions.
BetGames is the most recent gaming firm to secure an operational permit in Ontario, joining other companies such as L7 Entertainment, World Series of Poker, Apollo, BetSafe, and Pala.
The Ontario Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) declared on October 31st that they will be taking action against any unauthorized operators providing services in Ontario. The AGCO stated that they will take “suitable regulatory measures against any registrant who does not meet this standard (once the standard is in effect).”
