BetDex Exchange, established by FanDuel originator Nigel Eccles, is the inaugural regulated blockchain sports wagering exchange. They secured a permit and oversight from the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission.
BetDex is authorized to conduct all forms of online gaming, encompassing online sports betting, under the Isle of Man Online Gambling Regulation Act.
The enterprise was established just a year prior by former FanDuel executives Varun Sudhakar, Stuart Tonner, and Nigel Eccles. They garnered $21 million in an initial investment round.
BetDex Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Varun Sudhakar stated, “This marks a significant advancement for BetDex Exchange. We are now the premier fully regulated sports betting platform within the Web3 domain.”
Abby Kimber, Head of E-Gaming for the Isle of Man Government, remarked, “We extend a warm welcome to BetDex to the Isle of Man. We are thrilled to be at the vanguard of technologies such as blockchain, while concurrently remaining a highly regulated jurisdiction that safeguards players.”
I convey my sincere hopes for BetDex’s ongoing prosperity in their upcoming ventures and anticipate a durable collaboration with them.
The trading platform has just commenced its public trial stage and has garnered wagers from over 12,000 early adopters in recent weeks. It welcomes bets from South America, Europe, Asia, and portions of Africa. The BetDex trading platform presently provides peer-to-peer sports wagering on football and is anticipated to unveil additional sports in the foreseeable future.
